ABOUT ME

PB290145.JPG

My approach to health and wellbeing stems from my own personal experience that to heal we need to deepen our relationship to the body. I work with body/brain-based therapies that turn down, or reboot, the parts of the nervous system that condition how we respond to stress, perceived or real.

As we learn to switch off the stress response and rebalance the nervous system, our health changes, both mentally and physically, allowing a deeper connection to ourselves, others and the way we meet the world. Our quality of life improves, health conditions shift and we can experience healthy emotion without becoming overwelmed.

My passion is to work with practices that empower the body to shift towards health by releasing tension and restoring balance. I am touched to be working with others on their journeys, exploring how it is to trust in the wisdom of the body.

Stress, trauma and health conditions do not have to be barriers that dampen our sense of aliveness, connection, joy and presence. The body knows how to restore - we just need to trust in it.

MY BIO

PB290176_edited.jpg

I am a UK TRE® Certification Trainer and TRE Supervisor with over 19 years of experience working with adults, babies and children as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Practitioner in the Brighton and Hove area. I am also trained in Brainspotting, a trauma therapy which uses eye positions, the felt sense and relational attunement, which I was introduced to, through my work assisting on a team with Dr Mark Grixti, the UK Trainer and BSPUK.

My cranial training is in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST), an approach that empowers our body and facilitates movement towards health.  I graduated from The Craniosacral Educational Trust (CTET) in London in 2006, a two year training with Ged Sumner and Michael Kern.

My professional development includes post-graduate trainings in working with babies & children, dental and jaw issues, chronic fatigue and the Microbiome, Advanced TRE Trainings, and Movement for Trauma with Jane Clapp.

I have also previously worked on the teaching teams with TRE College and Body Intelligence currently teach with Train TRE as a Certification Trainer and support others in teaching TRE to others and meeting themselves through TRE and other modalities.

Steve Haines introduced me to TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises). I was immediately hooked and trained as a UK Certified Provider to work with individuals and run groups and workshops in Brighton & Hove.

I made the transition to alternative health from business in 2003, whilst managing health clinics for several years. I was given the opportunity to explore many different therapeutic approaches and body work, and trained in massage, reflexology, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST).

Until this time, although functioning well, I realised that I felt flat and lost inside. I had not acknowledged, to myself or those close to me, that I had been suffering from anxiety, dissociation, and poor gut health for years - a result of childhood trauma. It was during my BCST training that I began to understand this, and what it felt like to be in my body and befriend difficult feelings.

I am so grateful to have discovered TRE (or 'shaking'), an effective tool to regulate the nervous system. Since discovering TRE I have become more resilient, have more energy, sleep better and my reactions to what life throws up are more appropriate and balanced. I feel more joy, contentment and connection. I also have a well functioning gut for the first time in 35 years, and can't tell you how good that feels!

I am touched to be sharing these approaches with others as we learn to trust in the wisdom of the body.
